- ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆When I was a kid and just deposited birthday money from grandma into my savings, I thought harbor one was great. Now that I'm older and actually use my bank frequently, I have learned that harbor one is quite possibly the worst bank in the world. -it's damn near impossible to find a harbor one ATM so you will inevitably end up paying countless ATM fees. -when you do find a harbor one ATM there's a 50% chance it will be out of service -they LOVE to take money out of your account without telling you. $30 fees are their bread and butter. Get used to looking at your account and seeing them chip away day by day. -customer service is awful. This past year I was obtaining a mortgage through harbor one and when my Loan officer was fired, no one from harbor one contacted me to inform me or set me up with someone else. This caused serious delays in my closing process and as a result I was left scrambling to find a competent lender at the last minute. Bottom line- you may think that you'll get better service at a local bank like harbor one as compared to a Bank of America or chase, but you will not.
